I am a Canadian textile artist who creates colouful layered fabric paintings that explore the world around me and my place within it. I combine collage and quilting using recycled textiles to create richly layered pieces with a painterly approach to colour. I work with mostly recycled and remnant textiles for the environmental implications but also for the history and story they add to my pieces. I use the techniques of raw edge applique, hand and machine stitching, quilting and collage to create my wall hangings. I aim to mix and match found patterns and colors to create harmonious blends while still retaining their individual character. Creating an image that is just as interesting close up as it is from a distance.
