Making Environments more restorative + human-centric

Jill Malek is a design studio that creates wallcoverings, rugs and textiles for the interior design and architecture community. Inspired by the fluid forms found both in natural and urban landscapes, the studio is a pioneer in the use of dimensional materials in commercial wallcovering, raising the industry’s bar by creating transformative products that promote wellness and illustrate expressive forms in nature.

Jill Malek, the studio’s founder, is an artist and designer who began her career as a graphic designer. With a degree in Visual Arts from Oberlin College and a passion for painting, she entered the corporate world as an Art Director for Starwood Hotels and Resorts. Wanting to tell her own story and find a more fulfilling outlet for her creativity, she opened her studio in 2008. Her desire was to make an impact on interior spaces and how they affect the people who inhabit them by inspiring a sense of calm and transformation.

Growing up in a family committed to serving to others – a mother who was a child therapist, a father who was the head pharmacist of a psychiatric institution, a sister who would eventually become a nurse – Jill could not suppress her own need to channel her creativity in a way that would help others by improving the spaces they saw around them.

With a career spanning two decades, Jill Malek has created a successful name among designers and architects. In addition to high-end residential interiors, the studio’s work is quickly expanding to include healthcare, wellness, retail and corporate interiors.
