Kora Off White Napkin is a sustainable fabric that combines heritage value , honoring the cluster of weavers it originates from in Eastern part of India.

Gently textured in undyed yard, it is a handloom fabric made by weaving yarns spun out of broken waste or leftover fibers from hatched Tussar silk moth cocoons.Peace silk is a fabric that holds great cultural and heritage value for weaver community in India making it a means of sustainable livelihood.

Classic & timeless in design, Kora napkin in off white cream hues is created all by hand , these napkins are made in small careful batches, each piece being unique as it is completely handcrafted, making it a thoughtful gift and a personal purchase for your home.

Each order includes a set of 4 napkins.​

We pursue sustainable design goals by ethically sourcing the highest qualities of pure natural yarns, plant-based & eco-friendly dyes and combine these with ancient artisanal techniques of weaving & dyeing.For us, beauty lies in slow-made textiles that bring people & their cultural stories together.

Variously is the recipient of the Gold Award 2021 in Interiors / Textiles for the 16th edition of the International Design Award ( IDA ) , Gray Design Award Winner 2021 for Fashion Accessories, Bronze Award for the 15th edition of the International Design Award ( IDA ) 2020. All the collaboration for ethical manufacturing takes place directly ( no middlemen ) with artisan clusters for all our capsule editions and textile projects in interiors. 80% of our artisans are women & all our artisans are 3rd / 4th generation master artisans with a legacy of unique heritage value.

Anjali Purohit, the founder of Studio Variously pursued her design education from prestigious design schools in India & Italy. She has worked for 15+ years for design studios, fashion brands, exhibited in India, EU, the USA, Messe Frankfurt, Milan Fashion Week, Tourism Show in Berlin and has advocated for artisan-based businesses & ethical wages at the United Nations during the Artisans Summit. Through her industry experience, Anjali understood the growing need for ethically made sustainable products. She continues to explore this by forging unique artisan partnerships in India & Nepal for all her ethical productions handmade responsibly since 2016.

Through her company, Anjali has also made a short documentary featuring interviews of artisans called A Confluence which was showcased at Fashion Film Festival Milan and LA Fashion Film Festival in 2019. In 2019 she was also chosen as the Artist in Residence at Eileen Fisher / Michigan store. Anjali also actively volunteers for Fashion Revolution for the Michigan chapter to educate about ethical practices in fashion & is an Adjunct Professor at Wayne State University,Detroit. .
