At a fundamental level, the Long Shadow Series is about patterns and distortions. It embraces surprises and anomalies, which in nature are moments of possible evolution. Surprises invite improvisation. They sometimes demand the agility to pivot. In this case they did not end the game; they enhanced it. My favorite moments in this pattern are where opacity gives way to translucency.
