As part of Comcast Cares Day in May of 2019, over a thousand Northern Californian Comcast NBCUniversal employees and their families worked alongside Paradise High School students as a collective effort to beautify the campus prior to graduation following the devastating Camp Fire that had wreaked havoc on the city the previous fall. An invitation was extended to Shane, who was already known for his artistic contributions to the community in the wake of the fire, to paint a mural in an outdoor seating area on the high school grounds which had suffered significant smoke damage. This was the first publicly announced event in Paradise where Shane would be present. The space was cleaned, and Shane got to work executing a stunning mural, which was designed to feel like the others he had already created for the community. However, this time he chose to feature a teenage model, and surrounded her with white flowers that represent hope, innocence, and purity. It’s Shane’s desire that his contributions serve as an inspiration for future artists who would attend the school.
