Major inspiration for my work comes from nostalgia and sources of gratitude in my life. For me, family has always been at the center of that. This piece reminds me of a summer trip when my mom rented an RV and drove myself, my siblings, and our cousins all over our home state of Kansas visiting various kitschy tourist destinations often missed when you've grown up there. It was as unglamorous as it was enjoyable for us kids, and I'll never forget how impressive it was to me that she took it on alone. What a badass.

I make art that celebrates finding joy in the ordinary.

Originally from Kansas City, I grew up in a loud and passionate family that taught me self-expression as a basic instinct and necessity to get a word in at the dinner table. Fiery, honest and empathetic since the womb, I’ve never known another way of being and have always used art as a vehicle for expression. Responding to a strong call to help people with my love of science, I received my Bachelors of Science in Nursing from the University of Tulsa and have used every experience since as field research for my creative practice.

I love estate sales, dessert, and anything tiny. I work from my home studio in Oklahoma where my husband and I bask in the orbit of our cheeky daughter, Layla.
