The Shadow

Hello darkness, we meet again
The burden I once felt when you arrived has now become my biggest trophy.

By knowing you and experiencing you
I can feel all aspects of my heart.

I can feel the deepest hurt and because of that I feel the greatest happiness.

You never go easy and that’s okay
for I know life exists within my next breath.

You’ve taught me how to heal through the dark cloud
To know the rain brings with it the vibrance of true beauty.

Thank you, I can feel.

WHAT YOU SEE IN MY NATURAL AND ACRYLIC PAINTINGS IS A MESSAGE FROM YOU TO YOU. I AM ONLY THE SPACE HOLDER FOR YOU TO SEE WHAT YOUR SOUL WANTS YOU TO KNOW, QUESTION, LOVE AND ACKNOWLEDGE.

Kirsten is an abstract artist, dancer and creative facilitator who lives for adventure. Her work emanates her own curiosity of what is and what can be through questioning and openness to deeper meanings and trying new things. She uses a mixture of earth pigment paint, acrylic, metallic and the occasional wine and coffee.

From childhood she loved to be in nature, climb trees and observe, question and of course, dance, which helped her move through and process heavy emotions unbeknown to her at the time. She became an explorer of the unknown both in the natural world and of the self. She loves to challenge herself and do things out of the ordinary, even becoming a stunt person for a short time.

Her mother always referred to her as her, “little champagne bubble”, but with the light comes the dark. Kirsten, as many do, had dark spells, difficult times and with that beautiful lessons of life. Expression through various art forms such as painting, wood burnings, photography, writing and dance allowed her the space to explore and she is excited to share with you.
